Jeff Kenney grew up in Culver, the descendant of early settlers in the area. Public Library, where in addition to creating and promoting cultural and educational programming, he helped create an online database of thousands of images and texts relating to Culver's history. He is a board member of the Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver, with whom he helped start the Center for Culver History, a Culver area museum still in development in the historic Carnegie portion of the library. He is also a regular speaker in the area on topics of Culver and LakeMaxinkuckee history, and has published articles on that topic in several magazines, journals, and other publications.
Besides duties in the archive office and assistant to Academies historian Bob Hartman, Kenney is also editor of the Culver Citizen newspaper. Kenney lives in Culver with wife Beth and four children. hide more
working with class volunteers and special events. She began her career at Culver Academies in April 2012 as a Stewardship Coordinator for the Development Department. Sandy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology from Eureka College.
She has two children; Dylan W ’14, CMA ’18 and Taylor, who is a current Woodcrafter. She stays active with them at school and social events. hide more
for two years. He retired in 1994 after 36 years, having considered his pledge honored. Retirement was short-lived, however, and he returned to work as historian and archivist in 2000.
Hartman has authored a number of books including Pass in Review, Culver: A Century in the Making; Boots and Saddles, the History of the Black Horse Troop; The Grand Parade, A Collection of Historical Vignettes, and most recently Lest We Forget: Two Great Wars and the Years Between. He has also the reminiscences of General Leigh Gignilliat and Colonel Robert Rossow. Hartman is a frequent guest of Culver Clubs throughout the nation and has spoken to alumni groups in more than 25 cities.
Originally a member of the History Department, Hartman has followed a varied Culver path: Counselor, Dean of Admissions, Alumni Director, Special Assistant to the President, and Executive Secretary to the Centennial Commission.
He holds degrees from the College of Charleston, the University of Virginia, and Indiana University. hide more
sales; volunteerism for her children’s schools and organizations; and a passion for film and theater performance including amateur work in Chicago and its suburbs. Most recently, Maria has served as a representative for Linden dormitory through the Parents Association. Maria is married to Jeff, a 25-year employee of The Northern Trust Company in Chicago. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Culver Clubs, the link for all Culver Alumni, Parents and Friends to the Culver network. hide more
the Culver Alumni network. Prior to joining the Alumni office Ann worked in the Culver Fitness Center, Culver Summer Schools and Camps Director’s office, Sailing Program, and Athletic office. She is a SS ’72 graduate.
Ann Earned a BA in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. She has previously held positions in Advertising, Sales, and Elementary Education.
Ann and her husband, Bill, live in Culver and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. hide more
